What Gulf Stream does to a window
Nothing in Gulf Stream is more than a few hundred yards from salt water. Homes on North Ocean Boulevard take spray straight off the Atlantic, and the ones behind them along Polo Drive and Gulf Stream Road get it on the wind through the sea grapes and Australian pines. The film shows up first on the ocean-facing sliders and the second-floor glass, where the sun dries it before it can run off.
Place au Soleil and the homes on the Intracoastal side have a slower version of the same problem, with the added mess of the canopy. The old banyans and ficus hedges that make the town what it is also drop sap and pollen onto everything below them, and on the shaded north sides the glass stays wet enough for mildew to take hold around the frames.
Most Gulf Stream homes are on an every-two-months plan, with the inside done once or twice a year. We work around seasonal residents and house staff, and we are used to cleaning while the owners are away for the summer.

A first cleaning, inside and out, is $259 for a home up to 2,000 square feet, $329 for 2,000 to 3,500 square feet, and $429 for larger homes on our Silver package. After that, a quarterly maintenance plan runs $60, $77, or $100 a month for those same home sizes. Oceanfront and riverfront estates get a custom quote.
How often should windows be cleaned in Gulf Stream?
Every two months for anything facing the ocean, and quarterly for the Intracoastal side. Ocean-facing sliders sometimes need a monthly exterior wipe during the windy months from November through March. Most people have the inside glass done once or twice a year.
Do you work in the gated communities?
Yes. We work in Place au Soleil, Hidden Harbour and the gated estates along North Ocean Boulevard, and we are used to coordinating with house managers. Just add us to your gate list or tell us the procedure when you book.
Can you remove hard water spots from sprinklers?
In most cases, yes. Mineral spots from sprinkler overspray need a dedicated treatment rather than regular cleaning. Tell us about them on the quote form and we will look at them on the first visit.
